Creativity and entrepreneurship for urban regeneration

Contributing to transforming a city or a part of it is a collective, social task that requires ambitious initiatives based on creativity and promoted by people with strength.

The fourth edition of Think up Culture! will open on Wednesday, February 21 at Can Balaguer with a presentation of Erika Rushton (Beautiful Ideas Co), from Liverpool and will be moderated by the director of Balears.t, the Cluster of Technological Innovation in Tourism of the Balearic Islands, Miquel Payeras.

For those who do not know yet who Erika Rushton is, as a point of reference, she is one of the most influential people in the transformation of Liverpool from different areas, such as regeneration, social inclusion and the economic growth of the city.

Erika directs Beatiful Ideas Co, a social initiative in the management of community car parks. The income generated is invested in developing programs to promote projects that share a creative, cultural and collaborative base. In addition, it helps promoters who seek to be sustainable on their own. A chain of community work that generates real employment, real economy. An example: at the end of 2017 the organization had invested more than one million pounds in 30 initiatives between Liverpool, Wirrald and Salford.

North Liverpool, a historic industrial zone, is being reborn, it is being reactivated thanks to initiatives like the one led by Erika Rushton and the talent, potential and collective effort of its inhabitants. A part of society that has understood that together we can change a lot.

04 Think up Culture is almost here! We are looking forward to seeing you to take advantage together of meeting brilliant people, just like Erika.
